Triangular Emotions….

BROKEN-1

Her mocking laugh echoed about the room

her cold eyes fixed on the Bride and Groom

Every head there turned to see the cause

the Bride turned too, eyes hardened like claws

The laughter stopped, the figure turned away

the Bride sighed in victory, this was her day

but the Bridegroom’s face clouded with grief

the Bride, not seeing,  felt overwhelming relief

Two lives joined as one,  two vows were spoken

leaving one life shattered.,..  she walked away, heartbroken.

  2. Wow. Pen, you know what you could do with this? You could write an entire novella! In poetry fashion of course! This was wonderful…..and I have to say, that eye with the broken heart — outstanding!

    • I am so glad you enjoyed it Jenny, that is enjoyed the poem rather than the circumstances therein…It was an idea which just came from ‘a mocking laugh echoed’ and things went on from there…and the ‘eye’ I found trawling through Photobucket for simply ages, sigh!! I do work for my art!! 😉 ….xx

  4. Wow, Pen, love this. The bride’s eyes hard like claws — yikes. I wonder about this marriage. Your work paid off handsomely – great picture, too.

    • Glad you liked it Monica, I wondered about this marriage too, I know they just sprang from my imagination, but I feel I almost know ‘them’ …a very strange feeling too…nameless, not blameless and definitely not shameless I think…😉

      • Hi Pen, I prefer the groom’s grief to the bride’s hardness. We have a marriage coming up in the family this fall, and I hope all hardness will be banished! P.S. I saw your comment on Bluebee’s site – you know I love your comments. As for maintaining your privacy, we would have to look for Bess.

        • well, Monica, I’ve sworn Bess to secrecy, she’s to answer to another name!! Mind you, she’s never revealed the name she chose, so she just ignores me now when I call her!! 😉 …. Hope the family wedding goes ok, and banish the above scenario from your mind…couldn’t happen!! (or could it!! lol!! ) … xx

  5. Triangular Emotions…..beautifully written, Lady P. Always a conflict, always a doubt, who knows if it’ll ever work out.

Thanks Dan, for the compliment, and yes, the triangle of conflict, so easy to conjure out of thin air (or my brain to be precise 😉 !!)

    • Where you give love there’s a risk involved, Lady Jude, but always a risk worth taking. We seek for perfection I suppose, and we’re human when all said and done.., Glad you enjoyed my imagined scenario…It just grew from a simple phrase, and it’s almost as if I know the ‘players’ involved and their story…which feels very weird…xx

  10. Hi Pen!!!🙂

Yes, Elton is much maligned and yet made millions from his music, so SOMEBODY must have liked it! LoL!!!

I think you are thinking of Phil Collins, another of my favourites!!!

I agree about the music manufacturing machine, it pumps out a load of dross in the hope of catching the latest ‘sound’ only for the so-called band ending up in the trash as the next one comes along!!!

Elton John, Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Queen – these are the people who will last!!!

God Bless – and the Bucks Fizz was Vereee nice!!! LoL!!!

  12. Hi Lady P! I have a 2zpoint face book and I am inviting my favorites and my favorite’s favorite authors, artist, and interesting characters to come. There are many different types of authors but I believe them to be awesome people to know and I would like you to come too. On this site I tell everyone to post as they will their works, links, and words and in doing so the coolest people I’ve met can get to know each other and link up! I would be honored if you would send a friend request to: http://www.facebook.com/#!/2zpoint
    Peace be with you!

    • Thank you so much for the invite, Stuart, but I have just a limited amount of spare time and it’s usually taken up with my Blogger and WordPress sites, that I’ve never considered opening a Facebook page. (Bess would kill me too, she’s always sitting by the PC with a stop watch!! 😉 ) … Good luck with your endeavours , sounds like a great way to link up with like minded people…xPenx

  14. So tragic, it always feels so bad to see someone you once loved with another. I can only imagine how painful it must have been. Yet there is always hope, and I’m sure she’ll find a better man someday, and will be his bride🙂

    • A sad story told in rhyme, Ian, I feel such a compliment in your response, my ‘players’ came from deep down inside my imagination , and perhaps drawing on life through something read or seen… Take heart in the thought that once heartbroken, healing comes and maybe a love found…who knows what happens next?.. xx
