Lavender Thoughts….

Lavender Days....

Lavender Days,
Lavender ways
no shade of blue
or pink in hue
Lavender seems,
Lavender dreams
leading to
footsteps thro’
Lavender fields,
Lavender yields
scents sublime
holding time.
Lavender dies,
Lavender sighs
dry sad tears
re-birth years…

lavender days

  1. My favorite color–lavender. Lavender used to be “the fragrance” and might still rank high although mixtures of herbs seem to be the rage.
lavender sighs dry sad tears, rebirth years………It dies and then rises again.
Thank you for sharing. You gave me a smile.

  2. I loved this, too, Pen. My mother just adored lavender and said it made her calm and dreamy, and that what she loved best about it was, and these are her words, it’s rebirth every year. So yes, you were spot on as always and brought a good memory back to me this morning.

  3. I don’t like the colour Lavender or any purples, but the scent of Lavender is just bliss, I love it and what a lovely tribute to it is your poem Pen.

Yes, the Cyclone has hit land and hard, but so far there are no injurd or dead being reported, so it looks like the prayers weren’t wasted!!!

There’s a lot of property damage though and it’s amazing anything survived 180MPH winds, but it did…

    Love and squishy hugs!

  11. I meant to say that for my birthday last year, my daughter gave me some lovely perfumed pillow mist of Lavender, Mandarin and Chamomile, by Champneys, it’s to relax you and make you sleep, very strongly lavender scented, and it mostly works. I liked it so much she bought me one for Christmas

  12. I am just going to sit here and soak this in… lavender thoughts and lavender days. Lavender is my “signature scent.” Not that I picked it as such. It picked me. I love the blooms, the scent, the color, and the way my husband remarks “oh, you smell so good” when he gets up close and his nose captures the hint of perfume from the lavender water I use.

There is a lavender farm near where I live and every summer I tell myself I should get out there and visit it. I will do so this year, in honor of your ‘Lavender Thoughts.’

  13. Love the poem, Pen. There’s something haunting about the rhythm – and of course the memory of the scent – so lingering and so subtle, at the same time, the beautiful soft color. You got it!

    • Many thanks Monica, for your comment and glad you enjoyed the poem. I agree, Lavender is so …emotive a scent, can feed the senses and also heal apparently…if used with herbs , I think …don’t quote me though, I was googling the other day for info…I think I’ll follow the trail (scent 😉 ) again…
