One, Two, Three… One…

dance_steps Have a care, mind your backs, watch out,
you there…
don’t you know it’s extremely dangerous to
linger here?
There’s trouble a brewing, there’s a fight
in store,
I don’t know who’ll win but I know one thing
for sure,
by taking nothing for granted, you leave nothing
to chance
Now, …
lets start this again,
wishing I’d never agreed
I’d learn to dance…

  1. well it is slightly less hazardous than learning to drive ( with your partner teaching!!)

    • ah now…. you’ve never seen me trying to dance, Willow, I leave a trail of destruction behind me… Mayhap I should concede defeat, whilst someone still has two feet left…(as apposed to my two left feet that is .. 😉 ) xPenx

      • There is only one “you” and I can not write like you. Your unique style, witt and form add up to the reason why many return again and again! Besides…you’re loved by me and many others too!

You’re so kind Eddie, my thanks for such an accolade, in fact you’ve made me blush… now … would you care to dance? I’ll try and put my best foot forward… but … I don’t know which one it is… xxxx

  5. Ah, Pen… I can’t dance, I can’t jive… and that is so painfully obvious when I do!!! So I don’t very often. Hardly ever, now in fact…

    • Ah Sir Aquatom, isn’t it funny, that in our minds we know we’re perfect at everything, (’til we try that is) yet here I am trying to coordinate the steps to the music and somehow I miss a beat, mayhap just one, and then the rhythm just goes and what should be a perfectly smooth dance becomes a jerky non event… xx

  10. This is perfect, Pen. We often go the wrong way around the floor, adding another dimension of encounter.

This poem is a wonderful summation of the finite dance we are forced into as we encounter the world.

    • I think we all try to learn the dance of life, James, we just seem to be listening to different tunes. If we could synchronise, mayhap we’d stop leaving a total trail of destruction in our wake. Many thanks for your comment and for dropping by new friend… xx
