I’ve nothing left at all
every piece melted away
I tell myself I will not fall,
without the memory each day
I rise and face the daily grind
with a sigh, forgetting to smile
Trying to block my mind,
and it works for a while.
You want to know?
I
cannot
tell,
why this
process
fails so well,
’tis just a habit,
I seek to break,
chocolate addiction…
this diet means I must forsake…
Sigh!!

hi there Marjie, I’m glad you enjoyed reading about my love affair with the lovely, sweet, melt on your tongue substance that I’m doing my best in trying to forsake… Just for a while… Maltesers are the worst, (Pen proffers the nearly empty bag, want one? 😉 ) but I will succeed…Soon!! hugs xPenx

Ahh Sir Prenin, I sympathise most strongly… but you’re doing great my friend… I shall succeed in my quest to expunge the sickly stuff from my diet too… Soon… Scouts honour… (erm… not a good example as I wasn’t even a girl guide. 😉 ) Glad you enjoyed my poetic moan about the terrible thing that is Malteser-itis.. Luv ‘n hugs… xPenx

ah Sheila, a girl after my own heart,… what a good idea… 😉 … I shall limit my intake and not cut out the gorgeous stuff altogether… They do say, Maltesers (and you have to believe what they say…dontcha?) are chocolates with the less fattening centre, so by those rules I should be able to eat as many as I like… (Pen proffers a newly opened bag, fancy one Sheila?) hugs aplenty and a great weekend wish to you and li’l Lucy.. xxx

Sigh indeed, Lady Pen! My chocolate addiction will be taking a back seat from Monday also. Keep smiling anyway! 🙂

I sigh for you Sir Aquatom, ’tis a hard choice to make, BUT we shall both succeed in our quests to venture forth without said velvety, smooth, linger long and uplift the senses sensation that is the result of partaking of chocolate… 🙂 The smile is firmly fixed… (I look a bit like your Banshee sans the wild hair tho’ ) xx

Love the poem; very clever touch to link to the imagery, well done! (Is that a goblet into which the melted magic falls off that oh-so-clickable body?)
I too am a chocoholic; I do have some (though, sadly, not enough) success curbing my addiction by reminding myself of the true cost of chocolate.

OH yes Indeedy. pendantry, ’tis a goblet shaped to catch any stray rivulets of chocolate… Just hate any sign of waste.. 😉 The link to chocolate, the true taste, brought me up short, and one hopes that Fair Trade goes some way to solve the usual state of affairs, Big money squashes the little people, who’re forever trying to earn a living in this insanely balanced world… xPenx

I did a little more digging on TreeHugger; this post from February 2013 seems to be the most recent on the subject, and suggests that the problem isn’t getting much better.
From the chocaholic’s point of view though, the decision may be made for us if climate change threatens the global cocoa supply…

I *do* love chocolate!!! I actually enjoy a nice piece of milk chocolate melted into a hot cup of “Milo” – it’s a chocolate drink. However…I’m not so partial to chocolate cake or ice cream or any of that….
Ah! The feel and taste of a chocie melting in your mouth….:)

I wonder if sunflower seeds are better for you than chocolates, weight wise John? Mayhap an exchange can be arranged, under cover of darkness of course, you never know if the snack police are about… 😉

Still wading my way through the Xmas chocs… I am pleased to say my sweet tooth has taken a back seat in recent years… Lucky for me I dont put on weight easily or I may have been in serious trouble a few years back when every other meal was a chocolate bar… 😉

ah Sue, I am so, so jealous of you, my friend, I wish it were so with me, but the sweet stuff adds inches where I don’t want it… so I shall put chocolate aside for a while and return to it slowly… Sigh!! … Oh woe is me.. 😉 xx

Wow, Pen, love your new gravatar! So dramatic, exotic, gorgeous! Who needs chocolate, anyhow? Hmm. Must you give it up entirely? Here in Denver we have chocolate-chipotle-covered almonds (chocolate with a kick), and I must say, there is no way to stop once you start. Oh, but they’re so good for you!(?) I am also intrigued by the idea of a chocolate bath.

My thanks Monica, I had my hair done, and thought why not do a new gravatar… and this was the result… 🙂 .. . Glad you like it my friend..
Those chocolate almonds sound just the thing, for a chocoholic like me mayhap I would never stop eating them either, AND as they’re so good for you… well, goes without saying that one should partake, shouldn’t one? 😉 You’re a girl after my own heart… which in British speaks says… two peas in a chocolate pod!! 🙂 … hugs aplenty my lovely friend. (and no, I suppose I could just cut down for a while… just a teensy weensy while ) xPenx
