A gossamer
dream
floating
away,
soft
words
uttered
begging to stay
a hand outstretched
unable to hold on, as
the hand, the dream,
and you are gone…

I wonder from time to time why our dreams just slip away after we wake.
Have a lovely day, Lady Pen, and do try these mint cookies I’m leaving with you with some tea perhaps. 🙂
Love and hugs xxx

sometimes Deb, they’re so appealing you’d love to stay, linger longer… Sigh!!
You too my friend, and funny you should say that, I’m just having a cuppa and the mint cookies will go down a treat… Sigh ( with pleasure)… hugs aplenty… xPenx

I know just what you mean, Lady Pen. Sometimes I feel a little sad if I wake too soon. I guess when we’re awake we can finish the story the way we want. :)….I know, it’s not quite the same thing. 🙂
You enjoy you tea, while I enjoy my coffee. 🙂
Love and hugs…and a chocolate covered cherry! 🙂

Yep: Dreams are like that: Sometimes you can hold onto them long enough to write them down, but other times… 🙂

We do indeed Sweeti, letting go takes a firm will, and loving and letting go is even harder… for the instinct is to hold on no matter what pain it causes… I know the mood perfectly my lovely friend.. hugs to you… xPenx

Sometimes my dreams are so real and don’t want to wake before they end.. I remember some and not others don’t know why this is so.

I feel the same sometimes Sheila, when a dream is so enthralling, you know in the back of your mind it’s unreal, but you long to stay in it’s gossamer hold for a while longer… We still have sunshine in the Midlands, … hugs to you and Li’l Lucy, have a great day too… xx

I have an uncanny ability to remember my dreams after I wake up – sometimes not such a great thing especially when it’s a nightmare or leaves me feeling unsettled. Great poem Pen 🙂

Pen, I always find it sad when a good dream I’m having fades away… I remember most of them, but not all… wouldn’t it be good if we could still-pause them, and restart them the next time we sleep? That would be a good invention methinks!

it would Sir Aquatom, … like a DVD of personal treasures… and what a investment… for sometimes I wake in the thrall of a dream and can hardly concentrate on reality, but then which is real and which is a dream…. ’tis sometimes hard to choose… (tell me please? does the thingy which tells you a comment has been answered at ‘t’top, list the code I add for the gif or design to each comment??? troubles me a tad.).. xx

I can see your images in your replies through the thingy, Lady P, and not the code behind them. I’d love to be able to add images (and links / italics / bold characters etc) to my replies, but never get it right. I’ve managed once before, I think… I’ll get there one day!!!
