Nature can be cruel, hardly ever kind,
should we claim unawareness
we’d surely be blind
to the varied facets
of Natures law
as wild animals
on the Earth
live and die
by claw…
Mankind has
unwound
the delicate
balance
she
keeps,
breaking
linked cycles,
making sure she
weeps,
as he brings us to the edge
of Earths ruin in his name.
Dare we look Nature
in the face
and try apportion blame?

Re-posted for Earth Day….
Deep that fall deep into my heart, Lady P … I’m contemplating changing my eating habits and food choices right now … after reading a book by Barbara Ruetting. It’s about stopping to eat dead animal products … I know my comment is a bit beside your point, but I thought, I’d share this with you). Love you, always, Lady P … wuffs and purrs …

Hello there Cat, I know exactly what you mean, I think we all need to ponder about our eating habits, additives that have become so called ‘normal’ in everyday use are so damaging that you feel the need to regain control of what you put into your body. All subjects pertaining to our everyday life are linked my friend… hugs, wuffs and purrs Cat… always.. xx

Nature is teaching us many lessons, and I couldnt agree with you more here about changing our eating habits.. So much damage is being done to our bodies via what we put in our mouths.. and the chemicals which are being used now to grow food, along with the E numbers and sweetners which are proved to cause illness.. and yet still allowed … But then Life is cheap! for some who want nothing more to profit from illness!..
Dont get me started LOL…. I get so frustrated and dislike much how our world is run………
Balance is so needed on all fronts .. Nature will eventually reclaim and recover the damage we have wrought.. But as to mankinds recovery? Well that too is in the Balance!………
Love that you made me respond this way with your thoughts here Pen…….. Enjoy your Day.. xox

as you so rightly say Sue, balance is the key, and It appears that so many people feel no connection at all with nature, as if it means nothing to them… The whole infrastructure, connections and benefits of nature and natural things are there for any right minded person to see… ’tis the way to go, in fact the only way to go if there’s to be any kind of future for mankind and his size ten boot planting attitude with regards to Mother Earth… You’ve awoken my thought process too Sue, 🙂 Hope you’re having a good day my friend… xPenx

The world has done a lot of damage to this beautiful world, and all year long she rebels.
If everyone would do their part to keep the world clean, and recycle then the whole world would be taking part.
Excellent poem, Pen!.
Now, English muffins and tea for you, and me.
Love and hugs xxx

Good one Penny. A delicate balancing act indeed – one that Man is ill equipped to mess with. Also love the word image you drew.

thank you Eric, for reading my contribution to Earth Day… You do get a feeling of finely balanced Mother Nature wondering what her next step is… and how to deal with us… Glad you enjoyed the shaping, it gives me a ‘kick’ to see what I can come up with… 🙂 Peace to you… xPenx

As each day month and year go by I grow afraid of what is becoming of this beautiful Planet Pen. Earth Day today brings thoughts of trying to do one’s best , if only all of us would participate .
Hope you are having a good day , although no sun here today Pen.
Love this little Gem
Hugs Sheila xx

I feel the same way Sheila, frightened what the next day/week/year will bring, (just sometimes though, for there are good as well as bad situations occurring ) … If people would just think about what they’re doing and the knock on effects, maybe it’d help towards a cleaner/brighter future… Sunshine today Sheila,… smile time.. 🙂
Hugs to you and Li’l Lucy… xx

I wonder sometimes. In past generations we had world wars to worry about. That was bad, but at least there was the chance of things getting better. Now, no. Seriously depressing, all the more because there is so little we seem able to do. I guess we will keep taking baby steps forward as we hope.

baby steps it is Monica, and I fear that sometimes we take one forward and two back… Are we being too pessimistic?.. I fear not… but hopefully future generations will look after Gaia better than we have… Hugs to you my friend. and many thanks for your comment… always a pleasure to have you visit… xPenx

Well written Pen, I just read one of Dreamwalkers on that subject too, you both have written in the same vein.
Your poem makes one ponder on the role of mankind with Mother Earth.
I enjoyed that reading.

It was in answer to Earth Day on the 22nd April, Ian, it seems strange to me that the Planet Earth should only be thought about/considered on one day… should be automatically of the highest priority every day methinks… Many thanks my friend for reading my offering… xPenx

I like this one, Pen, very apt for Earth Day. Mother Nature still has to let us know that she is in control… although we do like to try and think otherwise.
