Water Droplet…

water-droplet-icon-black Do you
wonder at it’s beauty,
about how it came to be?
Do you gaze in awe upon it
matching form of symmetry.
It’s absence makes us desperate,
Death stalks in times of drought,
yet at others the heavens open,
                              flooding our lives
turn
                              and
            turn
                                  about.

Today I returned home through a thunderstorm,  lightning and pouring rain.  Now?  The sun is shining all is peace once again   xx

  1. Wonderful, Pen. 🙂 As with almost everything, water in balance is good.

    • too true Robin, always the balance is tipped one way or the other for some Countries, may be due to climate changes but who knows for sure, cycles come and go, and as far back as records have been kept, drought and floods occur for differing reasons. xx

  2. This is wonderful, Pen! Sometime we get too much, sometimes not enough, but is all washes out in the end.

  3. Fire and water, power and beauty, and fear, too. We are having fire here – the season has begun early and seems to worsen every year.

    • sorry to hear that Monica, tragic news my friend. I’ve sent another contribution to W.O.L.F. as I feel so strongly about the circumstances. I just wish there was an ability to share water across the Globe. xx

      • Pen, you are a blessing! Thank you, dear friend. I got an email from the sanctuary, saying they were constructing emergency evacuation shelters at a safer location, so they could leave without significant delay when necessary. Can you imagine what’s involved in moving 30 wolves?! They don’t jump in the car and go! And then there’s the question of neighbors when you arrive. Holy cow!

        • It was in answer to the email that I responded Monica, as they need such help and it was the only way I felt I could help. It’s a difficult task they have, as you say, hard to imagine how they will manage to do it, but do it they will. I echo your Holy Cow in sheer admiration for their work.!! 🙂 xx

  4. Water droplets and rain fall all part of life’s journey for survival.
Tis raining here at the moment again Pen , I think sunshine is over due , so we can get out and enjoy the garden again.
Hope your Sunday is a relaxing one and doing what you love most.

    • we had dark clouds threatening Sheila, but it came to ‘now’t’ int’ end. (just trying a bit of Yorkshire lingo, my Mum used to use 🙂 ) I sat outside this morning eating breakfast, and had visits from the blackbirds and a brown/yellow spotted butterfly (flutterby, I mean 🙂 ) Isn’t life good sometimes? Fair takes the breath away. hugs to you and Li’l Lucy xPenx

  7. i read a short comparison of reincarnation as compared to a single drop of rain, Pen, at some point in my reading and loved it so much that I think of each and every single drop as important, today. Excellent poem and each drop is important just as each life is important. I love that you hinted at relating that in this poem.
