Rainy Day…

Archway, Jasmine covered It just rained,
a sweet falling
gentle and renewing
wetting the earth and me.
Now the sun shines
peeking from clouds
hiding,
almost playful to see.
It changes so quickly
I thought to share
views of my garden
many shades there.

I rushed to get the photo’s before it poured again,  so apologies if they appear blurred.  (Skydrive adjusts well)  I am not a good photo taker,  I admit it,  I’m always thinking of the next one.  If you spot any weeds let me know, they are prolific in this lush greenery-making weather. xx

Ha. We have a frog in our bird bath too. 🙂

    • Thank you Steve, you are so right, after the rain there’s a completely different ‘feel’ to the air and to the whole garden. Not a natural looking one by any means, as the hexagonal slabs were an addition when we had my Bess, (Mad Welsh Border Collie, we had for 13 years, she died 2011) she loved to play catch, as we threw yellow plastic ball after ball, over the arch and into the garden. Plants never had a chance, she was no respecter of boundaries and wee’d on anything she thought needed ‘weeing’ on. Plants died off and she redesigned everything, and I would have it back that way in a heartbeat if I could. Have you named your Frog? 🙂 xx

      • Pets are wonderful and we must make our adjustments to their needs for a good run or a treasured spot for a nap. Our beagles have always had the run of the house as we cannot let them have the run of the yard…they would vanish for who knows how long. Murphy is as indiscriminate in his choice of weeing spots as was your Bess.
Our frog has no name…I’ll see if Mary Beth wants to furnish one. I always call frogs Fergus. 🙂

  5. Oooh! You created that lovely “just rained” feeling along with all the scents and all the visual attractions it has to offer…”gentle and renewing
wetting the earth and me…” You captured the moment beautifully with your words…and the sudden warmth of the sun breaking too…perfect! Your garden was a pleasure to visit too….the photos came out lovely – I had a good look at them in Skydrive although I then managed to close your page altogether 😉 Not to be recommended!! 🙂 And one other thing…your page and your background are awesome Beautiful…and ohhhh sooooo appealing to an Icewolf!! Love the blue and black scheme, and better still you can still read the fonts!! Your “fierce smoking dragon” is pretty cool too! *Cough!!!!!* 🙂

    • Thank you Icewolfie, your response makes the photo taking all worth while. ( I must admit, I’m not very good with a camera, just point and shoot type of thing. BUT as I pointed and erm shot? I thought of the composition and how it’d look (Yeah right!!! 😉 ) BUT thankfully I ended up with half decent piccies. Skydrive does at least make them look slightly better methinks. It’s taken me ages to settle on a background, trouble is when I start ‘meddling’ I go back and forth and end up pig sick, and plump for what I started with in t’ first place. One was see through black lace, very fetching. but alas, not me. So Blue ‘n black it is then. A bit like my foot at the mo, dropped a chair on it, and it didn’t have the nous to get outa the way. (the foot, not the chair) xx
(oooh and Fyrespike says ‘Cough’ he smokes far too much wacky backy for my tastes.) xx

      • Dropped a chair on your foot?!! How careless!! Lol 🙂 Your photos are great and I have been sunning my Wolfie hide in your picturesque back garden! Very peaceful it was till you dropped the chair on your foot…!!!

        • honest, I am so, so careless, Icewolfie, that poor chair, I could’ve hurt the *blinking* thing, now couldn’t I? 😉
You’d have a bit of trouble sunning yourself today, ’tis Wimbledon Fortnight and it always makes the rain pour!! 😉 xxxx

          Like

          • Well yes! You could have done irreperable damage to poor innocent chair couldn’t you? And just think of the emotional damage to the poor little thing!!! 😉
Hmm…have been watching the tennis so I should have thought of that…but then again…Wolfie is a touch brain dead from lack of sleep and heatstroke lol 😉 so it didn’t occur to the Wolfie brain cell when it chucked it down with rain this afternoon! 🙂 xx

It’s taken a few years to get some shrubs to take just right, but Bess had a hand (paws?) in ‘sorting ‘ out the ones she didn’t much like. 🙂 Gentle rain is magical, my friend. I do so agree. xx

Blimey you are so inquisitive ma Lady but you will just have to wait and see, so hard lines 🙂

    • You did indeed see Frodo Sheila, and I must admit he was one of the reasons I wanted to ‘show’ the garden in the rain, ‘cos I’ve talked about him so much I wanted you to see him. 🙂 the garden is so green and lush, due to the rain of course. Pleased you enjoyed the views my friend. I’ve had a terrible time with my flipping right foot, I dropped a chair on it and it’s put a ‘dampener’ everything at the mo, (good pun eh?) BUT hopefully it’ll sort itself out. ’tis wet and rainy today, but watching Wimbledon at the mo, so not all bad. 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend you two… hugs aplenty. xPenx

  20. Hello miss Pen,
