The blank page
‘tis an enemy, forsooth, draining words
from me. Thou accursed fiend,
such a fickle foe,
where
doth my
muse now flow?
As I stare blankly away
from thee, thy laughter
echoes mockingly.

The blank page
seems my enemy as it stares balefully
back at me. Until I write a
thought or two,
showing
my enemy
what I can do.
Putting black on white,
as words now rain, tho’
how soon ‘til I feel his
mocking disdain?

two whimsies,
on a blank subject…x
Oh I can so relate to this Penny-nothing worse than a blank page and a blank brain to wrestle with-unfortunately instead of a terrific rhyme, my thoughts are expressed with symbols found at the top of the keyboard 😉

Blank pages don’t scare me one bit … blank pages are beautiful, waiting for clean fresh start … you remember 1st grade in school, when notebook smelled so new and was void of the gruesome ink things and spots to come yet? …
Double woofs, tiny earth quake purrs and lil peeps, always. Love u, Lady Pen, cat:)

That’s a great way to see it, Cat, a fresh start, not a scary newest beginning. Double woofs, tiny earthquakes, purrs, teeny peeps, hugs and much love xPenx

Ha! As an artist, I know exactly what you mean about the blank page. I call it the “white of the paper”. It is so blinding when we first begin. I know. I know. You have penned it perfectly.
