Love eh?

If your lady love asks you, quite out of the blue,

“Darling, you know I love you but tell me true

what made you notice me from the crowd?”

don’t answer “ I don’t know, for crying out loud”

Don’t look at the TV watching your favourite team score

whilst wishing she would vanish straight through the floor

Don’t tell her it was the way she could hold seven pints,

or that she was able to crack her little finger joints,

or the way she could ruin your best joke without trying

by butting in with the punch line, leaving the joke dying.

or the way she couldn’t beat you at arm wrestling or darts

just say, quite sweetly, “Baby, you’re No.1 in my charts”

“without you I’d be lost, I’d be worth nothing at all”

Then quickly and quietly remove every last dart from the wall.
